BLSCM to teach Students about Frederick Douglas

Thanks to the City of Seneca, middle school students will get to learn more about Frederick Douglass, who became a statesman after escaping from slavery and a leader of the abolitionist movement. At the request of Bertha Lee Strickland Cultural Museum (BLSCM) Manager Shelby Henderson, Seneca will buy 800 copies of his autobiography and donate them to the School District of Oconee County. The books are available to Seneca at a reduced cost of $4 a copy and the money will come from restricted gifts.
