Seneca Girl hit by Car while riding Bicycle

Officers with the Seneca Police Department responded to a traffic accident Thursday at 5:14pm at the intersection of South Fairplay Street and Monte Video Drive. A vehicle had struck a child on a bicycle at that intersection. The 9-year-old girl was immediately airlifted to Greenville Health System with what is reported to be life-threatening injuries. The last update listed the child as being in critical but stable condition in the pediatric ICU. Seneca Police Chief John Covington reports that the preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the vehicle was not at fault. That driver did stop immediately and fully cooperate with officers. Chief Covington says that no charges are expected to be filed; however that the investigation remains ongoing.
