Clemson to dedicate New Life Sciences Facility

Clemson University officials will dedicate the new 100,000-square-foot Life Sciences Facility on campus in a public ceremony at 1pm Friday. The $50 million facility has been designed for a new era of collaborative, interdisciplinary research and education for the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences. The facility has 25 laboratories, organized by research clusters that focus on emerging pathogens, cancer prevention and cure, microbiology and food safety, and an advanced-imaging suite.  “The goal of the College of Agriculture, Forestry & Life Sciences is to become a new model for a life-based, interdisciplinary college for the 21^st century,” said Tom Scott, dean of the College of Agriculture, Forestry & Life Sciences. The new facility is located adjacent to the Poole Agriculture Center near the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.
