Man charged in Fatal Intersection Accident

A Walhalla man faces reckless driving resulting in a homicide death after a fatal accident last week. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that 29-year-old Thomas James Kirby of Walhalla was arrested on the charge Thursday, June 14. Troopers identified Kirby as the driver of a Jeep Cherokee that collided with a Nissan in the middle of the Highway 28 and Keowee School Road traffic light intersection in Bountyland the night of May 21, resulting in the death of Linda Ann Roose of Seneca. Roose’s husband, John Roose, was the Nissan driver and was hospitalized following the collision.
