QT and Starbucks could be coming to Seneca

Rumors abound in Seneca about a QT or Quick Trip and Starbucks locating businesses in the city. Oconee Economic Alliance Executive Director Richard Blackwell says he knows that QT has been looking at locations inside the city limits. “OT is one that we have directly talked to probably about four years ago when we started interacting with their real estate department about potential locations here. So, they have been looking in this area quit some time. I don’t know specifically where they are looking in Seneca, but I know where they have looked; they looked near Greenfield, near the Spinx on Bypass 123, near the hospital and so I know they have investigated a lot of site. They want to be in this market, it is just finding the right location obviously near a corner and near a traffic light. So, when you start narrowing that down, there are only so many location that they could go, but they want to be here and I think it is just a matter of time and finding the right site.” Blackwell says that Starbucks is interested in opening a stand alone store in the city. “We know that Starbucks is in kind of final negotiations with the property owner of the old bank off 123 across from the old Cheers there used to be an old bank there, I think it was a United Carolina Bank. I know that is where Starbucks is looking currently and hopefully they will finish out that deal and you will see a stand alone Starbucks come to our area, which we need. I know they looked at another location down the road near the hospital as well. So, again they want to be here and it makes good sense for them to be here.” We will let you know if either business announces future new locations in Seneca.
