Independence Day Holiday Gas Prices to be highest in 4 Years

At $2.52 in South Carolina, gas prices are at their highest point for an Independence Day holiday in four years. However, for citizens expected to travel by car this week, they will find prices at the pump 13 cents cheaper than this past Memorial Day holiday. “For the most part, gas price averages have held steady for the past 10 days, indicating that U.S. demand is keeping pace with supply and stabilizing summer gas prices,” said Tiffany Wright, AAA Carolinas spokesperson. “However, there are several factors that could trend gas prices higher in the early fall despite an expected increase in global crude production.” Motorists can find current gas prices along their route with the free AAA Mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The app can also be used to map a route, find discounts, book a hotel and access AAA roadside assistance. Learn more at www.AAA.com/mobile.
