OC Parks hosting lots of Campers

Campsites in Oconee County are full of campers for the 4th of July holiday. In fact, campsites were full last weekend too, says Oconee County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Phil Shirley. “July 4th being in the middle of the week this year that means that both weekends are heavily impacted. We continue to grow and we have seen our numbers skyrocket over the last five years. Every summer weekend appears to be like what we used to call a holiday weekend. We are excited, we have full campgrounds again. I know the state parks are full and a lot of our rentals around the lake are full. We are ready, the staff is excited and hopefully the weather cooperates for those who are trying to get out and experience the great things here in Oconee County.” To learn more about fun things to do in Oconee County, visit www.experienceoconee.com.
