Rain fell but did not ruin 4th of July in Walhalla

Afternoon showers fell in Walhalla on Wednesday, but fortunately, they did not ruin the 4th of July celebrations as they were hit and miss, reports Official U.S. Weather Observer Barbara Wilson from her weather station in Walhalla. “For yesterday, July 4, there was .33 that was over night near the morning. The previous day, July 3, was .20. I think here at the Walhalla station we were between two thunderstorms going west, so we didn’t receive as much as other parts of the county. Our high yesterday was 88 and the day before was 91.” Wilson gives rain fall totals in Walhalla for the last few months. “May has over 13 inches, June had right at 4.5 and right now we are just at 2 for July.” Rainfall amounts may differ where you live; Wilson recorded these figures from her weather station in Walhalla, which is about one-mile from the county seat.
