New Titles for SDOC’s Leadership Team

Two of the four members of the Leadership Team for the School District of Oconee County (SDOC) have new titles. At their most recent meeting, the Board of Trustees for the SDOC approved the new titles for Steve Hanvey and Gloria Moore, explains Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. “The board did approve a few changes to the organizational chart. Mr. Hanvey is the Associate Superintendent of Administration and Mrs. Moore is now the Chief Financial Officer for the SDOC. Mrs. Lisa Simmons is our new Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. So, we now have a four person Leadership Team and those are the new titles that the board approved.” As Chief Financial Officer, Mrs. Moore will also now oversea Food Services. “It’s a little intimidating, but I’m excited. A new challenge is always a good thing. I worked a little bit with Food Service in the past fiscal year, but I’m anxious to learn all I can about that and do a good job for the SDOC.” In his new role of Associate Superintendent of Administration, Mr. Hanvey will oversea Humane Resources. “Well, it’s an exciting time. I’m a little nervous with the HR coming over to our department, but we’re excited about that. We’re excited to have Al LeRoy in there and Dr. Mike Lucas is continuing with us for another year, so I look forward to working with that group and it’s just going to be another great year for us.” To learn more about the SDOC, visit their website at www.oconee.k12.sc.us.
