Two Programs launched for Downtown Revitalization Area in Seneca

Two new programs have been launched for the Downtown Revitalization Area in the City of Seneca. Last night, City Administrator Scott Moulder presented details of the Commercial Building Improvement Program and the Economic Development Incentive Program during a Town Hall Meeting at City Hall. “The Commercial Building Improvement Program is meant to strengthen and revitalize the downtown by improving the building stock within the Downtown Revitalization Area and create a very active environment with an area that people want to come and hang out.” The Economic Development Incentive Program is for new businesses locating downtown, adds Moulder. “We want to strengthen and revitalize the downtown and we want to encourage business location there and new business location there. We want to give other dining and shopping opportunities that will provide a future where they can grown within that Downtown Revitalization Area.” Moulder encourages businesses to apply for these new programs. “We have a limited amount of funds this year and we go live with the program on Aug. 1. So, we want to make sure that we’re here to support the business and show them that we are willing to invest in them like they are investing in us.” Businesses may apply for both programs at Seneca City Hall. The city has set aside $200,000 this fiscal year for the programs.
