Help sought solving Burglaries and Larcenies in Longcreek

Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc. and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seek the public’s help in its investigation into two recent and separate burglaries and larcenies that occurred at a Longcreek business, explains Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to Dixie Aluminum the mornings of Aug. 4, and Aug. 20, respectively in regards to the separate incidents. In regards to the Aug. 4, investigation, entry was made into the business and copper wiring was taken sometime the previous night. Concerning the Aug. 20, investigation, entry was made into the business and metal was stolen from inside but there is no timetable of when the second incident occurred. The metal that was stolen was several pieces of 1 inch square aluminum tubing approximately 8 feet in length, several boxes of sheet metal screws and several boxes of rivets, which each box weighing about 75 pounds apiece, plus, two boxes of carriage bolts. A Crime Scene Technician was called to the scene to gather evidence and both cases have been turned over to an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division. The investigation is continuing.
