Lots of interest in Old Hometown Building

More and more people are showing interest in developing the old Hometown building into a new business venture in downtown Seneca, says City Administrator Scott Moulder. “There is quit a bit of activity around that building right now. Obviously, I’m not at liberty to share who I am speaking with and what their interest is. I’ve spoken to three different people already about that building I’m actually anticipating a proposal to be submitted by somebody interested in taking that building and doing something different with it. So, we’re excited about the activity that building has generated and look forward to hopefully seeing it come to life one day.” In September of 2016, the City of Seneca purchased the former Hometown Food Store Building at 106 North Walnut Street. The $200,000 deal involved the downtown building and parking lot, which is across the street from Norton-Thompson Park.
