OC Sheriff’s Office executes Search Warrant related to Narcotics

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Wednesday morning near Walhalla in relation to narcotics activity. Agents from the Narcotics Division, the SWAT team and deputies from the Warrants Division and the Uniform Patrol Division executed the search warrant at 380 Coffee Road after a briefing in the training room of the Law Enforcement Center. The search warrant was obtained based upon controlled buys of narcotics by Narcotics Agents from the Coffee Road address. James M. Brown Elementary School was placed on a Code Yellow while the execution of the search warrant took place but there was no danger to the school nor the public. A suspect who resides at the Coffee Road address and has outstanding arrest warrants related to the investigation was not located at the scene when the search warrant was executed. His name is being withheld at this time by Narcotics Agents as they continue to follow up on leads concerning his whereabouts. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
