OC Sheriff’s Office investigating Burglary and Larceny of Firearms

Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc. and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seek the public’s help in the investigation into a recent burglary of a home near Westminster in which firearms were reportedly stolen. On the evening of Aug. 5, a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to an address on Miller Farm Road in reference to a burglary. The deputy met with the complainant who stated that someone had made entry into the residence sometime that evening between 6-9pm and stole several firearms from the residence. The stolen firearms are a Benelli Supernova 20GA shotgun with a camouflage pump, a Windham Weaponry black AR-15 .223 caliber rifle inside a black hard case, a 12GA black shotgun with a wooden pump and stock, a back 410 single shot Mossberg shotgun and a Marlin rifle with leaver action in a leather rifle sleeve. The total value of the firearms that were stolen is around $4,110. An investigation began and evidence was gathered, with the case being turned over to an investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division.
