USC Upstate’s Wells Fargo Speaker Series

The George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics at the University of South Carolina Upstate will host Yash Bhatia, president of Datos Consulting, as part of its annual Wells Fargo Speaker Series. The event, to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18, is the first of three lectures that will be held this fall. Bhatia’s presentation, entitled “In the Driver’s Seat: Empowering Decisions With Actionable Insights for Supply Chain and Logistics Through Big Data Analytics,” takes place from 12:10 to 1pm in the BMW Classroom at The George, 160 East Saint John Street in downtown Spartanburg. Bhatia leads Datos Consulting, a premium data science and technology company that specializes in integrated analytical solutions for end-to-end optimization and empowered decision-making. He has spent 16 years progressively developing as both an organizational and entrepreneurial leader who is helping South Carolina move forward strategically in the supply chain and logistics segments of the region’s economy. Bhatia worked for 10 years designing, implementing and managing logistics programs and technology for BMW: JIT-JIS, JIT-WOW, RCDO, SCM, Aftermarket, SKD, etc. at one of BMW’s logistics and transportation partners. Bhatia is building a company that delivers profitable outcomes through data-driven initiatives and he’s influencing the advancement of the region as he serves as a board member of organizations such as the APICS Greenville Chapter and the Warehouse Education and Research Council (WERC) of South Carolina. Recognized for his subject matter expertise in publications such as Anderson University Magazine, Bhatia has invested significant time evangelizing the powerful impact of data science as a panelist and speaker at events like the 2017 SC Supply Chain and Quality Conference in Charleston, SC.
