Now is the Time to check Your Voting Status

Now is the time to check your voting status if you plan to vote in the November elections, says Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Scharich. “We will be having the mid-term elections and statewide elections on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and if you are not register or have never registered to vote you’ll need to do that and it needs to be post marked by Monday, Oct. 8. If you need to change your address or if you are not sure if you are registered or if you’re not sure if you have changed your address or where you go to vote; take care of those items now. Absentee voting opens in early October and we will be full swing. If you go to vote and you haven’t changed or updated your voting status, you may not be correct and it just causes a lot of delays on election day.” You must register by Oct. 7, in order to vote in the Nov. 6, General Election. You can also update your address or check your voting status anytime by visiting www.scvotes.org.
