Businesses excited about Applications received at OC Job Fair

The gym of the Shaver Recreation Complex in Seneca was packed with job seekers Thursday evening as the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce and Tri-County Technical College presented the 2018 Oconee County Job Fair. Amy Cribb, Human Resources Director of BorgWarner, was pleased with the turnout and number of people who applied. “We’re excited to be here again for the second annual job fair, it is a great source for us to find some people who want to come work at one of the largest manufacturing plants in Oconee County. We continue to grow and we are in the market for great employees who have a passion for working hard on products that make a difference. Our products are transfer cases that go into all your Ford 150, 1500 Rams and all your Toyota Tundra four-wheel drive trucks. So, those trucks are selling like crazy and we need people who want to put them in four-wheel drive for us. Lots of opportunities for folks with or without experience. If you missed the job fair, you are more than welcome to go to www.BorgWarner.com/careers to find what is open.” Karen White, Administrative Assistant at Lake Keowee Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, said several people expressed interest in their job openings. “We currently have three positions available; an administrative assistant, we are always looking for good individuals that can work in our sales department, we also have a clerk position in the accounting office. We’ve had a great time here at the job fair. We’ve had a lot of applicants that have come in and we look forward and hope that we are going to get some good placements in our Lake Keowee Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram or at Lake Keowee Ford, which is our fast, fun and friendly dealership.” Thursday’s job fair featured 38 local employers looking to hire over 250 employees at the free event.
