Westminster asking Residents to hold Yard Debris

The City of Westminster is asking residents to hold yard debris and brown goods until after Hurricane Florence has passed. The city says during this period of time when heavy rains are expected it asks that residents not place any yard waste or brown goods at the street until the storm has passed. The reason is that in periods of heavy rainfall curb-side wastes placed over the curb line or in ditches may wash into the storm-water collection system and make an already overburdened system even worse. This could cause flooding on properties where storm-water inlets are in the adjacent rights-of-way. So, the city is asking residents to please refrain from placing waste on the street until Hurricane Florence moves through the area next week. The City of Westminster is working diligently to remove what is already at the curb to improve the situation. The city thanks residents in advance for their cooperation.
