OC Sheriff’s Office receives Award from Governor McMaster

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office was recently recognized by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster during the 2018 South Carolina Governor’s Opioid Summit on Sept. 6, in Columbia. Governor McMaster presented the special award to Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw regarding the lives that have been saved by the Sheriff’s Office administration of Narcan to counter the effects of opioid overdoses. The Governor presented 15 local law enforcement agencies, including the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, “with awards for their life-saving administration of Naloxone to individuals experiencing an overdose.” The summit took place at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center and the award was presented during a luncheon.
