Some SC Recreation Areas reopen

This week, the USDA Forest Service assessed health and safety conditions at all four Ranger Districts located on the Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests in South Carolina following the passage of Hurricane Florence. Some areas have reopened while a few areas remain closed due to actual and potential of flooding, and the potential for resource damage due to wet conditions. Back open are the Andrew Pickens Ranger District Office, all Andrew Pickens Recreation areas, Enoree Ranger District Office, Brickhouse Campground, Woods Ferry campground and picnic area, Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests Supervisor’s Office in Columbia, Lick Fork Lake and Andrew Pickens Ranger District Office, Parsons Mountain Recreation sites, FATS bicycle trail, Morrow Bridge and Midway seasonal hunt camps, Fell Hunt camp, The Francis Marion National Forest Ranger District Office, Buckhall Recreation Area, Twin Ponds Rifle Range, Honey Hill Campground, Huger Recreation Area, Long Cane Ranger District Office, as well as the Rocky Branch, Collins Creek, Poulous Loop and Sedelia hunter camps. However, the Enoree OHV trail, Buncombe Horse Trail, Parsons Mountain and Cedar Springs OHV trails, Elmwood Campground, Wambaw Cycle Trail, McConnell Landing, Pitch Landing and Tiger Corner Road remain closed.
