Keowee Key named Community Wildlife Habitat

The Keowee Key home development has been designated a Community Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. This designation means that habitat areas are created in backyards, school yards, corporate properties, community gardens, and park lands in the area. The National Wildlife Federation is honoring residents for creating a community where both people and wildlife can flourish on sustainable landscapes that require little or no pesticides, fertilizer, and excess watering. To qualify as a wildlife habitat, 88 individual-owned properties and four common areas at Keowee Key completed the required points for certification. Keowee Key is the 112th community in the country and the fifth in South Carolina to receive the honor.
