Faculty sad to hear of Dr. Booth’s retirement

After almost sixteen years, Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) President Dr. Ronnie Booth will retire on June 30, 2019. He made the public announcement on Monday afternoon at a faculty and staff meeting. Rebecca Eidson, Director of Public Relations and Communications at TCTC is sad to see him go, but is grateful for all his accomplishments. “We will miss Dr. Ronnie Booth when he retires next June. During his nearly sixteen years at TCTC he has accomplished some amazing things; opening three community campuses, an Industrial Technology Center and most recently the Oconee Campus in August. He’s also started really well-known programs that serve as a role model for the state including our Bridge to Clemson program, our I-BEST manufacturing training programs and our Connect to College programs for high school dropouts. Just so many initiatives that have had a profound impact of the lives of the people in our service area. He will be greatly missed when he retires.” In 2003, Dr. Booth was named the third president of the public two-year technical and community college serving Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties. He notified the TCTC Commission of his retirement intentions in June; however, it was not made public until Monday.
