2nd Annual Clemson Blues Festival

The Clemson Blues Festival, an event inspired by the historical Littlejohns Grill, will take place April 18 – 21, 2013 in the Clemson area. The Grill has given Clemson a rich history of Jazz, Blues and Rock & Roll.  The tentative schedule for this year’s Clemson Blues Festival features: VIP Reception, Jimi Lee from Austin, Texas will perform at the Red Minnow Dinner Club in Central on Thursday, April 18 from 7 – 9pm. Admission to VIP Reception is $50 per person, which includes heavy hors d oeuvres, beer & wine and entertainment. See [email protected] for tickets. The Red Minnow Dinner Club is proud to bring back one of the Blues Festival’s most popular performers, Mac Arnold and Plate Full O’Blues on Friday, April 19.  The Main Event at Patrick Square with bands, food and entertainment takes place on Saturday, April 20 from 11am – 7pm Scheduled entertainers include: The Blues Doctors w/Adam Gussow, Robbie Ducey Band, Rob Cassels Band, Cool Bluesion, True Blues, Ceasar, Freddie Vanderford and Brandon Turner, and Tony Tidwell. Several other talents will be announced soon. The cost is $10 per car or truck load. The proceeds go to charity and for start-up of the 2014 Festival. The Main Event is followed by Blues Performances at Local Clubs: University Inn, Backstreets, Esso Club and other locations to be determined.  On Sunday, April 21 is the Gospel Blues Sunday Afternoon at Clemson United Methodist Church on Frontage Road in Clemson from 1 – 5pm featuring local gospel choirs singing the old time religion so closely associated with the Blues. Last year this event was one of the highlights of the Festival.  Gospel Blues Sunday Afternoon is free to attend. Food plates will be sold to benefit the Clemson Area African American Museum.
