CU Police charge Woman with making Bomb Threats

Clemson University Police charged a Seneca woman Tuesday in connection with two incidents that led to evacuations of Hendrix Student Center on campus.  Campus police charged 38-year-old Melissa Ann Griggs with two felony counts of making a bomb threat. She was served with the warrants at the Oconee County Detention Center, where she is being held on similar charges. Police said the first incident occurred Jan. 30 when the Hendrix Student Center was evacuated by staff members after a woman caller said she overheard someone say the word “bomb.” On Feb. 4, a female caller told the Hendrix Student Center information desk that there was a bomb in the building. Police searched the building both times and found nothing.
