Voters encouraged to make Voices heard despite the Storm

The Midterm Election is Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. Unfortunately, the forecast is calling for storms throughout the day, but voters are encouraged to make their voices heard despite the rain. In Oconee County, voting takes place 7am to 7pm at the traditional precinct locations, with a couple of exceptions. Box One and Two voters in Walhalla no longer vote at the fire station. The new location is 314 South Church Street, which is the building used by EMS and the Walhalla Rescue Squad. A new voting location for Fair Play voters is the Fair Play Presbyterian Church at 201 Fair Play Church Road. For Oconee County voters, the ballot includes an array of choices including governor and the U.S. House of Representatives, along with a ballot question of whether to keep electing the state superintendents of education or whether South Carolinians should allow the governor to appoint someone with the advice and consent of the State Senate. For voters in designated Oconee County precincts, there are a handful of local offices to fill including those for State House District 2, Oconee County Council Seat 1 and seats 1 and 3 on the Board of Trustees for the School District of Oconee County.
