West-Oak High School mourning Student’s Death

A West-Oak High School student has died days after being hit by a vehicle. On Oct. 29, 2018, 17-year-old Elijah Davis was struck by a car in Clemson as he was trying to cross the street in front of the Mellow Mushroom on Tiger Boulevard. Davis suffered a head injury and died in the hospital Friday night, Nov. 2. The School District of Oconee County will have counselors available for students to speak with when they return to school on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The Clemson Police Department is investigating the accident. Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle at the scene of the collision, who said that Davis ran in front of their vehicle and they could not avoid him due to traffic in the other lane.
