New Oconee County District One Councilman John Elliott Addresses State of Oconee Luncheon

Last Friday, the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce hosted their State of Oconee Luncheon that was held at Walhalla High School and that was attended local, county and state dignitaries and leaders. During the luncheon, all five Mayor’s from the County’s Municipalities spoke. Also delivering comments at the luncheon was new Oconee County District One Councilman John Elliott who discussed the impending and continued growth at Clemson University and what the county must do to get ready for that growth. 

Elliott says that Clemson University will be doubling its student population over the next several years as well as its staff and professors and it will create economic growth in Oconee County and the County must be prepared. Elliott emphasized teamwork to capture this growth to improve the lives of all Oconee County citizens and to allow the County to grow.
