Keep Oconee Beautiful Association Receives Grant For Elementary Education Program

The Keep Oconee Beautiful Association recently received a grant in the amount of $4,500 from the Keowee-Toxaway Habitat Enhancement Program. The grant is for KOBA’s elementary education program called “Taking Care Of Our Watershed.” 

The program is for third grade students, and according to a release, the program promotes awareness for protecting fish and wildlife habitats along the shores of Lakes Keowee and Jocassee and surrounding watershed areas. 

The grant will also allow KOBA to purchase seeds and plants to create and enhance pollinator gardens within local watershed areas.
