U.S. Senator Tim Scott Co-Sponsoring Legislation In the U.S. Senate

(Seneca, SC)—————-U.S. Senator Tim Scott is a co-sponsor of bipartisan legislation in Congress, along with fellow South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, called the College Transparency Act. The legislation, according to a press release from the Senator’s Office, would modernize the college reporting system for postsecondary data by ensuring accurate reporting on student outcomes such as enrollment, completion and post-college success across colleges and majors, while ensuring the privacy of individual students is securely protected. 

Senator Scott also was a co-sponsor as well of a recent bipartisan disaster relief package in the amount of $13.6 billion dollars that will help in part those recovering from disasters in South Carolina. The Senator was also among a group of Senators that sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr regarding recently passed legislation concerning the National Instant Criminal Background Check System and requesting implementation information from the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security to comply with reporting requirements. 

Also, Senator Scott toured various parts of the Southern Border in California recently in which discussions took place regarding border infrastructure, recent challenges and the need for additional resources.
