Oconee County Coroner Issues Release Regarding Incident With Death Involving Missouri Resident

(Seneca, SC)———————–Late last week, Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis issued information regarding an incident with death that occurred along Interstate 85 northbound near mile marker 1, which is near Highway 11.

According to Coroner Addis, there was a minor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer at approximately 2:40am last Friday morning. Coroner Addis says that is appears that the driver of the tractor trailer realized a medical event was occurring and slowed his vehicle and pulled off the road.

While this was occurring, the driver struck an information sign that was located along the interstate. The tractor trailer did stop around running off the paved surface.

The driver, who was 55 years old from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was found to be in cardiac arrest and despite efforts to resuscitate the driver by first responders and paramedics, the driver was pronounced dead around 3:28am.

No autopsy will be performed and the manner of death is being classified as natural, according to Coroner Addis.
