Work Begins On Workforce Training Center Expansion At South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation

(Seneca, SC)—————Work has begun on the project to expand the workforce training center at South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation on Wells Highway here in Seneca.

The expansion will increase the square footage of the training center as well as adding a new roof on the facility.

At the ground breaking that occurred a couple of weeks ago, Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander was grateful for the work of Oconee State Senator Thomas Alexander in making the expansion possible and then discussed the vision of helping those with disabilities at South Carolina Vocational Rehab as well as local businesses and industries in the area.

Mayor Alexander says that goal of South Carolina Vocational Rehab is to help those with disabilities find out what their abilities are and then help them make a transition into the workforce to help them be successful by placing them in a field that allows them to be the most successful.

Conversely, another goal from Vocational Rehab is to help business in Oconee and Pickens Counties to have a good workforce to choose from, according to the Mayor.
