Clemson University Professor Receives National And State Awards For Contributions To Environmental Sciences

(Seneca, SC)—————A Clemson University professor has received a national and state award for his contributions to the environmental sciences. 

Patrick McMillan, who is the Hilliard Professor for Environmental Sustainability, received the 2019 Award of Excellence from the National Garden Club which was given out at the 90th annual convention in Biloxi, MS. 

McMillan also received the South Carolina Environmental Awareness Award earlier this week during a ceremony at the Environmental Education Center at Harbison State Forest. The award was established by the state Legislature back in 1992. 

McMillan is also the director of the South Carolina Botanical Gardens and is also host, producer, writer, director and co-editor of “Expeditions with Patrick McMillan,” which is an Emmy Award winning TV show. The professor is also a popular lecturer around the Southeast and the United States as well.
