Proposed Three Percent Pay Raise For City Employees In City Of Seneca Budget For Fiscal Year 2020

(Seneca, SC)———-On Tuesday night, Seneca City Council held a work session and special called Council Meeting, during which time the City Council passed the 1st reading of the fiscal year 2020 budget. 

The General Fund budget will see an increase of over $700,000 from last year’s budget for a total budget of over $12.4 million dollars. The Seneca and Light Water budget will also see an increase of almost $460,000 from last year’s budget for a total budget next fiscal year of over $31.6 million dollars. 

The budget for next year will also include a 3% pay increase for all City of Seneca employees. With comments on the pay raise, here is Seneca City Administrator Scott Moulder. 

Scott Moulder, City Administrator for the city of Seneca, stated the reasons for the pay raise concerned rises in the cost of living prices, the years in which city employees did not receive a pay raise, employee retention and other public and private sector entities increasing pay for their employees.
