Seneca Police Department Arrests Upstate Man On Multiple Charges

(Seneca, SC)—–The Seneca Police Department made an arrest earlier this week of an Upstate man on multiple charges. 

47 year old Markus Vandel Walters has been charged in arrest warrants with one count each of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer. Walters also had an outstanding arrest warrant for Distribution of Methamphetamine. 

Arrest warrants list Walters’ home address in Pendleton while the Oconee County Detention Center lists Walters’ home address as being in Seneca. 

An officer from Seneca PD was dispatched to the Best Way Inn on the Highway 123 by-pass Monday evening in reference to reports of a stolen vehicle. 

Officers arrived on scene and verified that the motorcycle was stolen through the National Crimes Information Center database. Officers made contact with Walters who initially gave officers false information in regards to his true identity. 

Walters was placed under arrest and officers were informed about the outstanding arrest warrant. Walters was transported to the Detention Center and the vehicle in question, an orange in color 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was transported to the Seneca impound lot. The motorcycle was reported stolen to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
