Two Anderson County Residents Killed In Separate Single Vehicle Accidents This Past Weekend

(Seneca, SC)—–The preliminary total of seven persons killed on South Carolina roadways this past weekend includes two roadway deaths in Anderson County, both involving single vehicle accidents. 

The first accident occurred around 8:20pm Saturday night on Slater Road at Timber Rock Road and involved a pickup truck that overturned. 

The coroner identified the victim as 58 year old Roger Dale Arnold of Anderson. According to the Coroner’s Office, the victim was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident and sustained severe head and neck injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The Coroner’s office said that speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors and toxicology tests are pending. 

The second accident also occurred on Saturday night on Masters Boulevard and Martin Road and involved a vehicle that struck a tree. 

The victim in the second crash has been identified as Christopher Lee Brock of Starr. According to the Coroner’s Office, the victim sustained severe head and neck injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The victim was entrapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. The Coroner’s Office says that speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in this accident as well and toxicology tests are pending.
