Gas Prices In South Carolina Show Increase From Last Week; Still Cheaper Than This Time Last Year

(Seneca, SC)——-Gas prices continue to show an increase in the state of South Carolina in the middle of the summer driving season, but prices are still lower this week than they were this time last year.

AAA Carolinas is reporting that the average price for a gallon of gasoline in the Palmetto State is $2.41 a gallon, which is four cents more than last week and three cents more than last month.  Gas price averages in South Carolina are 12 cents lower than this same time last year.

AAA Carolinas says that motorists should expect to pay more at the pump throughout the remainder of the month of July.

In addition to rising gasoline demand, South Carolina is one of 13 states that have seen an increase in gas taxes.

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.75 a gallon.
