Oconee County Governmental Offices Back Open After Closing Yesterday Due To Malware Attack

(Seneca, SC)———Oconee County Governmental Offices are scheduled to be open today after some of those offices were closed yesterday due to a malware attack that affected a portion of the County’s computer servers.

Oconee County Administrator Amanda Brock said early yesterday evening that some offices may have limited resources until all systems are fully restored.

According to a press release from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, the County has identified the malware and has it isolated as the evaluation of the computer systems continues.

The Sheriff’s Office along with the FBI and SLED are continuing to investigate the incident.

After the malware incident yesterday, the County Administrative offices on Pine Street as well as the County Courthose, all Magistrate offices and all banches of the Oconee County Public Library System were closed.
