Spartanburg County Man With Charges Pending In Attempted Murder Of Clemson Police Officer Arrested By The Greenville Police Department

(Seneca, SC)——A Spartanburg County man who has pending charges in Pickens County for the Attempted Murder of a law enforcement officer was among three people arrested after a pursuit and attempted escape on foot in Greenville yesterday afternoon in the area of Clemson Street Extension, according to the Greenville Police Department

According to a press release from the Greenville Police Department, 28 year old Matthew James Arneson has a charge pending for Attempted Murder of a Police Officer from the Clemson Police Department.

Arneson was the driver of a stolen 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was reported stolen from York County, SC.  Arneson has been charged with five counts by the city of Greenville related to yesterday‘s incident.

Also arrested was 29 year old James Robert Hutson of Greenville on two charges from city police related to the incident as well as a charge from the US Marshals Service.

The third and final individual arrested was 29 year old Kirsten Brianna Meece of Anderson on two charges, including a charge of a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The weapons charge was based on the discovery of an AK-47 rifle inside of the vehicle and Meece having been convicted of a violent felony and therefore, not authorized to possess any firearms.
