Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces New Guidelines For Pastoral Visits At Oconee County Detention Center

(Seneca, SC)——-The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office recently announced some new guidelines for pastoral visits at the Oconee County Detention Center that the Sheriff’s Office says will be strictly enforced.

According to a press release from the agency, all visits will be through the video visitation system and inmates must agree to the visit.  Also, ministers will be allowed one 30 minute visit per inmate each week and ministers must meet with the Visitation Officer to schedule visits between 8am and 5pm Monday thru Friday.  Ministers may call ahead to verify that the Visitation Officer will be available to schedule a visit.

Finally, ministers must show credentials or proof of being on staff at a church in Oconee County, the visit must be during the inmate’s recreation schedule and ministers cannot be accompanied by an inmate’s family or friends.
