The Continued Revitalization Of Downtown Seneca A Major Goal For Seneca’s Mayor

(Seneca, SC)——-Yesterday on the Coffee Time program, Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander discussed the accomplishments in 2019 for the city of Seneca and looked ahead to goals and priorities for 2020. One of the main goals for the Mayor in 2020 is the continued revitalization of downtown Seneca.

“This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time and then in the last couple of months in ’19, we’ve had lots of property to change hands,” says Mayor Alexander. “ I’m real excited about that. The city has actually taken ownership of two buildings that have been closed for a long time, so 2020, what we do with that and how we make that where people want to come downtown and enjoy the family atmosphere, to me, that is going to be a major part of what we’re doing in 2020.”

The Mayor also praised the work of City Administrator Scott Moulder, especially as it pertains to his leadership and the relationships he has built with the businesses in Seneca.

The Mayor believes that downtown Seneca will continue to transform in 2020 and that does include the old Hometown Food Store.
