Two Oconee County Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is investigating 44 additional cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. This brings the total number statewide to 342 cases in 36 counties. Two cases have been confirmed here in Oconee County. It was confirmed Monday that a team member who had worked at both Chik-Fil-A’s in Seneca and Clemson tested positive for the coronavirus. A spokesman for the company said that both locations were closed as soon as they learned of the potential diagnosis. A third party cleaner will sanitize and disinfect both restaurants. A date for re-opening has not been set. Seven people, thus far, from across the state have died from the coronavirus.
