Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Files Additional Charge against Subject Arrested in Pursuit Last Week

(Walhalla, SC)————————————-The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed an additional charge against a subject who was involved in a pursuit with a Sheriff’s Office deputy last Thursday morning.

25 year old Brandon (aka Bradon) Lee Ashley Potter was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:52am last Friday.  Potter has no fixed address, according to the Oconee County Detention Center, while arrest warrants list Potter’s address as Garrett Avenue in Charleston.

The additional warrant obtained by an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division charges Potter with one count of Receiving Stolen Goods.

The new charge against Potter stems from an investigation that began last Friday when a victim filed a report with the Sheriff’s Office stating that license plates had been stolen off of two vehicles, a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and a 1994 Jeep Cherokee.

As the investigation continued, investigators determined that the tag on the back of the vehicle that Potter was driving in the pursuit matched the license plate number of the tag taken from the Jeep Cherokee.

Potter was cited in traffic tickets last week with one count each of Driving under Suspension, Failure to stop for a Blue Light, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Operating a Vehicle that is not Registered after his arrest at the conclusion of the pursuit on Deer Knoll Drive near the Tokeena Crossroads last Thursday.  Potter was also charged in arrest warrants last week with Possession of Methamphetamine and Furnishing Contraband into a Detention Facility as he was being processed into the Oconee County Detention Center.

At this time, Potter remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $71,527.50 surety bond on all charges.
