Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Pickens Woman on Charges Related to April 2020 Burglary of Gun Shop

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Pickens woman Wednesday on outstanding warrants related to an April 2020 burglary of a gun shop.

22 year old Leanna Shyann Green of Juniper Lane was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:00 pm Wednesday after being transported from the Pickens County Detention Center to the Oconee County Detention Center, where she remains in custody at this time.

Green was served outstanding arrest warrants on two counts of Grand Larceny and one count of Second Degree Burglary. A General Sessions Bench Warrant was also served on Green. Green was given a combined $35,000 surety bond on the Sheriff’s Office charges.

According to evidence obtained during the investigation, Green and 26 year old Michael David McCann of Tallulah Drive in Westminster have been charged in the burglary and theft that occurred on Saturday, April 4th at Blue Ridge Arms on Blackjack Road in Westminster. During the burglary, a quantity of firearms was taken from the business.

McCann was arrested on April 6th after investigators responded to an address on Ranger Drive near Seneca in reference to a suspicious person call. At this time, McCann remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center.

Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, investigators obtained arrest warrants against McCann charging him with Second Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny, Malicious Injury to Property and Wearing a Mask during Commission of a Crime in regards to the Blue Ridge Arms break-in. McCann was also charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin after investigators discovered a quantity of Heroin in McCann’s possession at the Ranger Drive address on April 6th.

Green was also on scene at the Ranger Drive address on April 6th when McCann was arrested. Green was arrested and charged with possessing a quantity of heroin. Green was released on later that day on her own recognizance after receiving a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.

As the investigation continued and additional evidence was gathered, investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division obtained arrest warrants against Green on April 8th charging her with one count each of Second Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny for her role in the Blue Ridge Arms break-in.

Further evidence obtained by investigators led them to charge both McCann and Green with one count each of Grand Larceny for stealing a red 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. The Chevrolet pickup matched the description of the vehicle that had been used in the burglary and theft, according to investigators. The pickup, which was reported stolen by the owner, was located on April 4th in the Foxwood Hills Community abandoned. The arrest warrants against McCann and Green on that charge were obtained on April 15th.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Investigators report that all of the firearms stolen have been recovered and are no longer outstanding.
