Grant Approved for Walhalla’s Greenway Project

The Appalachian Regional Commission has approved a half million dollar grant for the first phase of Walhalla’s Greenway Project. The monies will allow for the implementation of almost a mile of pedestrian and bicycle paths downtown. The three and a quarter miles long Greenway Trail running along North and South Broad Streets in Walhalla will consist of public art, interactive features, along with an arboretum component. And, once completed, Walhalla’s Greenway will make for the official Upstate terminus of the Palmetto Trail. The project is estimated to be completed in about eighteen months.
