South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced 250 new confirmed cases and 7 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, 29 additional confirmed deaths and one new probable death.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 124,097, probable cases to 2,116, confirmed deaths to 2,800, and 142 probable deaths.

No new cases were recorded in Oconee County Wednesday, however there were two cases each in both Anderson and Pickens Counties. Anderson County also added one COVID-19 related death in a middle aged person.

The latest numbers from the School District of Oconee County show that there are a total of at least 23 cases of confirmed positive COVID-19 within the school system. Results are reported on the date the school district is made aware of a positive test result. A positive test result does not necessarily mean others have been exposed within school buildings.
