Jury Expected in General Sessions Court Next Week

Oconee General Sessions Court will welcome a jury pool next week for the May term of criminal court. Judge Scott Sprouse will preside. The circuit solicitor’s office has announced a trial docket of five cases. At the top of the docket is a case alleging breach of trust with fraudulent intent.

While mask wearing is no longer a requirement in county government buildings, such as the Pine Street office complex or the county library, those who enter the courthouse are required to wear a facial covering.

Clerk of Court Lisa Burton said the Chief Justice’s Order regarding the required use of protective masks in county and municipal courthouses remains in effect unless amended or revoked by subsequent order of the Chief Justice.
