Less People traveling this Memorial Day Holiday

AAA predicts an overall drop in travel over the Memorial Day weekend. Spokeswoman Heather Hunter explains.  “AAA is projecting that 34.8 million Americans will journey this year on Memorial Day weekend, which is about a 0.9% decrease from last year.” Hunter says that when you look at the specific forms of travel, a much sharper decrease will be seen at the airports. “Air travel is expected to decrease about 8%.” Of those who do travel, Hunter says most will be on the road.  “About 90% or 31.2 million Americans will take to the road this weekend.” If you do plan to drive this Memorial Day weekend, expect to see more Highway Patrol Troopers on the road as well.
