Braves’ bats shut down by Blue Jays

An injury forced the Braves’ starting pitcher to make a premature exit and the Braves’ offense endured another frustrating night against a group of unfamiliar pitchers.  The Braves lost Wednesday night, 3-0, to the Toronto Blue Jays at Turner Field.  Kris Medlen did not suffer a severe injury when he was hit with a comebacker on the upper portion of his left calf in the second inning.  His inability to pitch the third inning seemed to set the tone of the night for the Braves, who stranded five runners. Medlen was diagnosed with a bruised left calf and the Braves announced he would likely make his next start. Along with suffering their seventh shutout, the Braves notched their 24th double-digit strikeout total (10) in what was their 52nd game. They have gone 29-6 when they have homered this year and 2-15 when they have gone homerless. The Atlanta Braves are now 31-21 on the season.  Catch all the exciting action of Atlanta Braves baseball here on WSNW.
