SDOC to graduate 667 Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum

On Saturday, 667 Oconee County School District graduates will walk across the stage at Clemson’s Littlejohn Coliseum.  The Class of 2013 earned an impressive $20,243,809 in scholarship monies. Congratulations to the Salutatorian and Valedictorian from each high school.  These students will address their classmates during graduation:  Ashley Mae Carroll, Salutatorian and Grace Elisabeth Moxley, Valedictorian from Walhalla High School; Shelby Rushe, Salutatorian and Elizabeth Evans, Valedictorian from Seneca High School; Cassidy Westmoreland, Salutatorian and Landon Stevenson, Valedictorian for West-Oak High School and Caleb Talley, Salutatorian and Jaret Screws, Valedictorian from Tamassee-Salem High School.  “This is an exciting time as we graduate another group of young people from our Oconee County schools.  I know these new graduates have the necessary skills to be successful in continuing their education, serving in the military, or entering the world of work.  On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to these students and their families,” said Dr. Mike Lucas, Superintendent of Education. Walhalla High School graduates 216 at 9am Saturday.  These students earned $3,518,180 in scholarships.  Seneca High School holds its graduation ceremony at 11:30am Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum.  Seneca’s 240 graduates earned $12,916,497 in scholarships.  West-Oak High School graduates 180 at 2pm on Saturday.  These students earned $3,197,691 in scholarships.  Tamassee-Salem’s 31 graduates walk the stage at Littlejohn Coliseum at 4:30pm on Saturday.  They earned $611,441 in scholarships.  In addition to the 667 graduates from the four high schools, the School District of Oconee County’s Adult Education Program will award 113 certificates in its ceremony.
