Upstate under Flash Flooding Watch

Much of the Upstate is under a flash flood watch, and severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon.  A line of showers and a few embedded thunderstorms is moving across north central Georgia and the storms are expected to track east across northeast Georgia and the Upstate of South Carolina during the early to mid-afternoon. As the line of storms moves east across the upper Savannah River Valley early this afternoon, it will likely strengthen into a solid band of thunderstorms. A flash flood watch is in effect through this afternoon for portions of northeast Georgia, North Carolina and the Upstate. The Upstate counties included in the watch are Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Chester, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, Greenwood, Laurens, Spartanburg, Union and York counties.
